Yes you can get them seperate. If you call the mfg you can order them. I don't have any.

Hi James,
The raceceiver headphones you have. Are they teh ones with the little plastic tubes? and if so can i get a set without teh raceceiver? Mine got ganked when the paramedics took my helmet off.

Sorry about the head phones. They were the original ones from raceiver and were new. I didn't have any problems with the two we used.
If I need to do something to make it right with you let me know.

Just to let you guys know the head phones that come with the raceceivers are junk. We thought the unit went bad so we bought another one it didnt work either so we switched the headphones and they started to work great.

Dan'o I agree with you. I have offered them, for free to the club to use, but no one seem'd interested. I also donated two Motorola 2 way radio's in the begining. So I dropped it and decided to get rid of them.

So why are we not using these James?? I think Jeff Barker has some good points in his post. I think we should use them. We would only need to get another 15 or so. Post it on our site for discussion. I say "Yes" but you know me, I am for everything atleast once.

To make a long story short I am/was a dealer for Raceiver Radio's. I still have 10. If anyone is interested I'll make them a great deal. I have 6 drivers versions and 4 spectator versions. The only difference is the ear pieces. These do turn off.

All the tracks we run in NY have mandatory one way radios. They greatly speed up the show for getting cars re-alligned after a caution. And also for tellingg cars where debris is or fluid is to run over (or not) during cautions. They are pretty much worthless for "directing traffic" during actual racing sicne you cant understand them over the engine noise. BUT... when they use them to anounce a caution. Which is the ONLY time they are used under green, then everyone knows instantly...

The latemodel teams and some of the sprints use the raceceivers around kansas. As a driver it kinda stinks having someone talking in your ear when you cant talk back to them, but its a great safety feature to alert drivers of wrecks and also alert lap cars of incoming faster drivers. It takes a bit for the driver to get used to, but its a great safety feature. As a track official, its great cuz the drivers cant talk back to you. It makes lineups faster, and cautions faster as well, with them...

Get the latest Raceceiver with the ON/OFF button. Older ones had no ON/OFF you had to remove the battery to shut it off. Went through batteries every other race weekend because you end up leaving it on for the entire night of racing.

We use a "Pit Crew" unit from speedway motors cheapest thing i could find $ wise it works great. Speedway sells them cheaper then e-bayers too.

We currently use the transponders, and have had good success with them. Out here they the car either own or rent one. However the Raceceivers are something different. You wear these in your ear and the track can tell you (one way conversation)different things during the race, like where to line up under a yellow, where there is an accident, black flag, etc.

Some of the tracks in Northern California are talking about going to the raceceiver. Are you running them? Whats everyones experience with them? Good or bad. What is the cost? Which one is the most popular model? Are they battery powered or hard wired? Iniatially they sound like a great idea to me, just wondering what the drawbacks are if there are any?
