I'm trying to install a Hawk driveshaft adapter on an '01 YZF R1. There is a recess on the adapter that the sprocket nut needs to fit in and the
recess is only a few mm larger than the nut so there is no way I can get a 36mm socket on there. Before I go searching for a different nut that will work, I
figured I would ask to see if someone else has any suggestions on where to find one. I'm sure I'm not the first to run into this.

Looks like I need to have the oil seal...

Well, Dave made good on his word and the new adapter showed up about a week after he called me. It's been a busy couple of weeks for me, so I just now got
the new adapter installed. It fit perfectly and had plenty of clearance for the socket. I'm definately a happy customer!

Looks like I've got another option available to me. This morning I recieved an unexpected call from Hawk Machine. He stated that he was unaware of the
problem and that he only finds out about issues like this when customers report it to them. He graciously offered to build a prototype that should fit my R1
output shaft that would have sufficient clearance for a normal socket and send it to me free of charge.

I say the call was unexpected because I am so used to poor customer...

I had the same problem until I got a driveshaft adaptor from Dwarf Car Company in AZ for around $50. It consists of the actual sprocket with a ring welded to
it. The driveshaft bolts to this ring and there is PLENTY of room to get the socket in to tighten it. I ran it all last year with no problems whatsoever. I had
heard horror stories about people tightening the nut with a chisel, etc. I'm not sure if Hawk is aware of the problem, I would think they'd fix it if
they were.
