2000 ECU has the two plugs the same size.
2001 thru 2003 have one plug smaller than the other.
Eliminator Race cars makes the pickups that will make any year cam work for the ECU you are using.

Example. 2000 ECU with 2001 or newer cams---change the cam pick-up to match the ECU!!!

2000 and 2001 motor mounts are far apart.
2002 and up are closer together.

There is no difference in the actual sensor as far as I know, it is the position on cams that are different.I guess you would have to look at what you have now and see where the sensor is in relationship to the sprocket.If you bought a motor that had the same plugs on the harness for the ECU as what you are running than it will work fine. If the plugs are different you would have to change the cam or the harness. I was not aware of the different mounting.

SPECIFICLY IF I WERE TO LOOK AT THE TWO EXHAUST CAMS HOW WOULD I KNOW WHICH CAM WAS FOR WHICH MOTOR?

WE ARE STILL BACK TO MY ORGINAL QUESTION WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE THE "CAM SENSER" ON THE CAM? AND IF I HAVE A "2 PLUG ECM", ON THE STARE MOTOR, THEN I CAN USE THE MOTOR AS IT IS? JUST CHANGING THE "HEAD MOTOR MOUNT.

The pick up on the cam is different. You can put an early cam in a later motor if you use the computer and wiring that matches the cam. On the 2000-2001 computer one plug is longer than the other. 2002 and up plugs are the same size. The bolts are farther apart on the early motors.

NOW IS THAT THE SENSOR IS IN A DIFFERENT LOCATION OR THE "DISC" ON THE CAM IN A DIFFERENT LOCATION? IS THE 2002 UP MOTORS HEAD MOUNT, THE ONE THAT IS CLOSERE TOGETHER OR IS THE MOTOR WITH THE MOUNT FARTHER APART THE 2002 AND MOTOR? WHICH "ECM'S" ARE WHICH AND INERCHANGEABLE IF ANY? THIS MAY SOUND LIKE "CHALLEGE" TYPE OF QUESTION, BUT THE REASON I'M ASKING IS I'VE GOT A LINE ON2 MOTORS AND DON'T KNOW IF THET WILL WORK AS A REPLACEMENT FOR THE MOTOR...

The cam sensor pickup location and computer are different on the 2000-2001 and the 2002 and up. The motor mount bolts in the exhaust side of the head were moved in 02.

I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE CAMS USED IN THE DIFFERENT YEARS OF THE ZX12'S? WHAT EXACTUALLY WHAT ARE THE DIFFEENCES? ARE THERE ANY OTHER DIFFERENCES THAT WOULD PREVENT THE INTERCHANGING OF PARTS?
