I have had 2 ZX12's in the past that did not have the pressure relief valve shimmed. The motor I have now does and the oil light is coming on in the turns
after a few laps. Pan and pickup have been pulled and checked out good with proper clearance. Has anyone noticed a problem with shimming the valve and having
too much pressure?

If the light is coming on in the turns, your oil level is too low. Fill the oil to the top of the sight glass with the engine running.

Forgot to mention that, I run a minimum of 5 qrts, sight glass is always full. I run a oil return line from the head. I put an extra 1/2-3/4 quart more to try at practice to see what will happen. I was just wondering if with that much pressure if it was pushing all the oil to the top end before it could get back. |
