Rain wins May 2nd

COAL GROVE, OH-With 64 cars in attendance, the skies opened just prior to Hot Laps canceling the May 2nd races at Rocky Top. A top quality field of 16 Late Models was in attendance that included the likes of R. J. Conley, Rod Conley, Jackie Boggs, Terry Hicks, Kenny Christy, John Melvin, Joe Ramey, Shannon Thornsberry, Rick Whitt, D. J. Wells, Carl Dillow II, Kevin Wagner, and Tom Hall among many others. 20 Tomahawk Race Car Modifieds, 15 Bombers, and 13 Mod Lites were also in attendance.
Everybody in attendance is encouraged to keep their tickets and/or wristbands. As long as a ticket and/or a wristband from May 2nd is presented at the gate, you will be admitted free into the races as a rain check. Rain checks will be honored at any race this season except the Tri-America Contractors 50 and Engines Inc. 50, where admission prices will rise.
Up next for Rocky Top will be the first special event race of the season, the "GCP Engines Twin 30's" which will take place at the track on Friday, May 9th. On the card will be Late Models going 30 laps for $2,000 to win, Tomahawk Race Car Modifieds going 30 laps for $1,000 to win, Bombers $350 to win and Mod Lites $200 to win. General Admission is only $12 with Pit Admission $25. There will be no entry fees for any of the divisions. For more information visit www.rockytopraceway.net.
