one piece is said to be best but i find them to uncomfortable to get in and out of. I have a G Force 2 piece three layer suit my self. I had a single layer
Nomex when i started 10 years ago.
Yes 3 layer is not cheap but it is when compared to a visit to the burn ward! With the 2 piece i can take off the jacket to cool down between rounds. theres a big over lap on my G Force unit so I'm not so worried about flames getting to me like i was with the single layer unit. 44

Impact suits are great just look at tony pedregons fire in february. Anyone not using carbon x is foolish. They are as light as a t shirt and offer huge
protection. My idea of fun isnt a burn unit but thats what i think too. Avoid proban like the plague, its only "good" for 20 washings then the fire
resistant treatment is mostly washed out. Many suits are good ones you just have to look at sfi ratings, sfi -5 is good.
Myself I have a 2 layer Impact Suit 1 piece with carbon x top,bottom, and socks |

Proban? | ||

Let me start by saying I'm not trying to dispute anything here. Do you have any kind of website or proof that the Proban goes away after 20 washes? The
reason I ask is I found a suit made by Crowe and it says it is Proban. Before I waste $250 I would like to read up on the stuff. I appreciate any resources
you have available. Again, not trying to dispute you here, just looking for technical data or something.
Thanks, Kasey |

The info about Proban is out on the web. I've read it years ago too. The SCCA will not alow Proban on there tracks it's in the rule book so that should
tell you something.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the links. I appreciate all of the info. I figure for the money, Proban is not too bad even if you only get a season or two
out of it. A two layer Crow is only $250. Maybe if some more money becomes available, I'll look at something a little more expensive.
