We are announcing our initial schedule with 5 races, all on the dirt at Bureau County Speedway, but we are still working on additional dates, but not with the
posted Illini Midget dates shown at this time.
We are pleased to see interest from Illinois drivers who usually only on run pavement. We are also delighted with the interest shown by teams from Iowa, Indiana, and downstate Illinois. Stop by Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet this Sunday (March 16th) to see some cars on display, and for just $5 (kids under 12 free) come on in to the garage and visit us at the memorabilia show. |

Thanks to all who have inquired about these dates and the organization to date. We are working towards the future on this as it is hard to put something
together on short notice like this. But keep in mind that there are bigger and better things to come as this ball starts rolling. These 5 dates are a start and
everyone has to start somewhere and then plan and build from there. The promoter of these events in looking to the future as well for these types of shows
(small cars and open wheel) so your support would be greatly appreciated and welcomed. These are all Saturday night shows and will have a progressive payout
based on a $75 guarantee per car. Shows are open to all Mod-Lites and Classic body styles using TUSA 2007 rules package at present with additional requirements
of safety equipment for driver required (fire suits-2 layer, nomex or fire retardent undwear, headsock, gloves, and shoes required). Min driver age is 16 years
old. Goodyear, Hoosier, or American Racer tires can be used for 2008.

Many things are starting to take shape for the upcoming season and races. I have been informed that there will be many contingency awards and prizes being
shared at years end as sponsors are lining up and approaching the IRS Series. In order to share in these awards, IRS members must have the proper decals
showing on their cars for these sponsors who will be part of this years program.
Membership forms are being printed up and will be available soon. Those who have contacted me already with their information and email addresses will get the membership info right away as we are less than one month away from the first practice date. There will also be an optional $100,000 excess medical insurnace policy available to any member/driver who joins the IRS Racing Series at a cost of $125 for the year. The 2008 membership fee will be $30.00. Pit pass cost for races at Princeton will be $25 in 2008. There is also the possibility of a points fund being developed for these races for IRS members to share as well. Information in regards to this will be posted as it becomes available. Should anyone need additional information, please email your requests or give me a call to address your questions or comments/concerns. Al Claps/IRS Racing Series classic3354@yahoo.com 815-530-1189 |

Practice date on 4/12 has been canceled! | ||
|
JUST A NOTE ON THE PRACTICE DATE UPCOMING.................... The practice date scheduled for 4/12/08 at Princeton has been canceled due to the track
being frozen yet and all the rain and bad weather we have had. The promoter has said that they have started to prepare the track but after digging down and
finding frost and ice that they have had to stop. The practice date will be rescheduled and as soon as we have a date in hand, we will pass it on! Thanks to
everyone for inquiring and planning on attending!

Charles, thanks for your response and question in regards to the rules to be used in this series. We will be using TUSA 2007 rules with the
addition of added safety equipment for drivers (nomex underwear and headsocks required) and the minimum driver age is different as
we do not allow younger drivers under 16 years of age for insurance purposes as stated above. Should you need any additional questions
answered please let me know and we hope you will come check us out and consider the possibilities.
Thanks Al Claps IRS Racing Series |
