Yuku free message boards

Actually, it is perfectly clear, Jeff. It happens to me ALL the time. It is most prevalent when I check Yuku when I'm on my company's network, slightly less prevalent when I'm on my work laptop on our home network, and very infrequent when I'm on one of our home computers.

Unfortunately, it is some sort of bug that the Yuku folks are still trying to figure out. They think it may have something to do with certain combinations of ISP's server caching (some ISP's server cache files are only purged after X number of hours) and browsers (my work computer is only on IE6, but the home computers have IE7). But they don't know and they're still testing. I personally think it is some setting on Yuku's end that is screwed up though, because I don't have trouble with any other website/message board system, and I didn't have any issues on ezboard.

One thing that you should double check though, is to make sure that your browser is setup to check for new versions of sites at every visit to the page - in IE, go to Tools, Internet Options, then on the "General" Tab under "Temporary Internet Files" click "Settings", and under "Check for newer versions of stored pages" make sure that "Every visit to the page is checked". Other versions of IE may have a slightly different path to get to the setting, and other browsers (ie Firefox, Netscape, AOL, etc) should have similar settings.

Anyway...if your settings are okay, until the Yuku folks figure out what's causing the problem, you'll need to do a "hard refresh" to get new posts to appear (aka hit the refresh button in your browser). It's a PITA, but it works.

FYI - Yuku recommends using the Firefox browser for full optimization of Yuku's features (although my understanding is that Firefox users are encountering this refresh issue also).
