I have a 2000 zx12 that wont start.I have replaced the battery,fuel pump and throttle bodies.All of wich has not changed the situation.The plugs have
spark,it's getting fuel and it has compression.The motor just keeps spinning and does'nt even sound like it wants to start.Anybody else have this
situation before?The motor is stock,and no power comander.Any ideas would be appreciated.Thanks,Kelly Skinner.

Is it a fresh install? If so did you bypass the security system? Power needs to be run through a 100ohm resistor to I believe the gray wire at the ECU.

Thanks Steve for the response, the motor has less than 20 races on it,but the last 3 or 4 it was hard getting it to start.Once started and warmed up no
problems.Now it just wont start.

Did you check compression? Sounds like tight valves maybe. Dirty injectors can also cause hard starting.

oops didnt see you had....... Pull the injectors and see if they are misting fuel while cranking. Ive seen cam sensors go bad and then they dont shoot fuel.

this motor floods almost instantly. and when it did run it was terribly rich.
compression is fine, spark is fine, fuel sprays adaquately. right now we are in the "random replacement of sensors" phase to see why its rich fouling so fast. i was hopeing that the throttle body swap would help with the air temp and map sensors, but appearently not. JB |

Sounds alot like Paul Klager's car in Florida and what he had wrong was the Gray connector was onthe TPS and the Black on the Air Sensor they will
interchange and if this happens it burns up tha Air Sensor. BLACK connoctor goes on TPS.

Actually it was one of the first things we checked.
I am going to try and pull trouble codes out of it. Hopefully that will shed some light. thanx for the ideas. JB |
