I would guess you have a sensor disconnected/in the wrong place/not making contact. unplugging the airbox air temp sensor will make it run like that.

vacuum possible. | ||

check for vacuum leaks around the map sensor area too.

vaccuum leaks | ||

jeffs right, vaccuum leaks. Check all of your small vaccuum lines under the injectors ive found that even a small pinhole will throw off the computer. Also
if your intake book clamps are in the wrong spot, the secondary shaft will grab them, strip out the servo motor infront, put it into limp home and smoke like a
truck. make sure thats not the issue.

Guy thanks for the help. I have solved 1/2 the problem. On the harness there are 2 sensors that have "barbs" on the back for vaccum lines. under the
injectors there are 4 hoses that all merge into one. I connected that hose to one of the sensors and it solved the problem of the engine staling out, But I
still have the smoking problem. I have been unable to find a disconnected vaccum line that could connect to that other sensor with the brab on the back. Any
ideas???

The air sensor close to the injectors hooks to vacuum, the other sensor measures atmospheric pressure and does not hook to vacuum.

When you hook the vaccum line to the atmospheric pressure sensor the butterflies will close also. switched sensors and after a few minutes plugs cleared up
and runs like a champ. Thanks for all the help

I seem to be missing the Air Pressure sensor on my 2002 GSXR 1000. Engine seems to run OK but but maybe a little slow and produces a little black smoke. The on-line manual I found seems to indicate the Air Pressure sensor is only used when under "light" load. Do I need it and if yes, what will the engine do without one? |
