Fuel Pressure has to be at a minumum 55 lbs 2. Engine breather....for the two that are next to each other on the valve cover .....you have them face each other and connect with a hose and not use a breather. For the breather that is on the valve cover but closer to your firewall, use a breather/filter on it. Anything else? Thanks. Fred Schneider

Posts: 266 (05/15/08 09:17 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	Fred I fought with my fuel pressure all last season and I tried from 53 to 60 pounds and the higher pressure the better it would run on the top end but at idle it was horrible. I installed a stock fuel pump in a old tank I had this winter and it runs great. Fifty bucks on e bay delivered. The car runs cooler and smooth at idle. I have run the stock fuel pumps in all of our cars GSXR's, Honda 954 and now the 06 CBR 1000. I used a gallon and a half at the last race after 1 hot lap session 2 heat races and 1 feature. I was using 2.5 to 3 gallons messing with the pressure. Jeff I tried to load a picture of my breather but it didn't work I uploaded it somewhere. I can e mail it if you want.

They don't vent to the bottom of the case like the old GSXRW for instance. They suck cold air from the airbox and blow it into the exhaust to incinerate unburned fuel. You want them closed on a race application because they generate a ton of extra exhaust heat. In the case of tech CBR, it has 3 vents on the cover. 2 are the "pair" valve. short for "pulsed air intake reed". And the third which is actually the crankcase vent. I "believe" Honda is the only one venting through the valve cover at this time. I saw your instant message tonight Fred, but i wasn't quick enough to catch you. I do believe that this issue could cause the oil filter seal to fail, since that's the weakest point in the system. JB

On the end of the valve cover I used one of the hoses of the stock airbox pretty much a 90degree angle put a little metal tube into the one end of the hose clamp it slide the breather filter on the metal tube clamp it and your good to go. Stock fuel pressure is around 55 I run about 60 with the idle set at about 2000 no problems so far. hope this helps.
