Any ideas on helping to get my water temps down? Got up to 270 last night. It was a cool night and I had the fan on the entire race.
I run a Water Wetter and Water combination for the radiator fluid.
I have an aftermarket aluminum radiater that I'm not sure how many passes it has but it is a big one for dwarf car standards.
We put the stock water regulator back in as we had the center punched out for the race two nights ago where I also got up to 270.
I replaced the 16 lb radiator cap prior to last nights race with a new 20 lb cap...it appeared that the 16 lb cap was defective.
I'm running good engine oil.....Amsoil. I don't have an oil temp gauge so I'm not sure how hot the oil is.
The next thing that was pointed out to me to try is to get that bright mirror like material and wrap the copper tube that runs from the radiator exit and the length of the engine and between the exhaust headers and the engine back to the firewall where it routes back into the engine.
Other ideas I have are:
1. to replace the copper tube with rubber hose and possibly still wrap it.
2. have the radiator flushed.
Do you folks have any other ideas?
Thank you.
