Sometime next week. I have the pics with graphics. I don't put a lot of graphics on a car. Just enough. Twister, if you keep it simple and give it to someone straight, it don't take that long. If you go off into all the crap that don't apply then I am sure it would take 6 weeks. Just go to the car and set the darn thing. Not a bunch of hoopla or wasted breath on things that do not apply. That is where the confusion sets in. I did not say two hours did I? I said 2-3 days. I can take a person through the set up process in one evening starting at the beginning to the end. And I bet they will understand and remember. And I also bet they will have a car they can drive under control.

I think that is my point. When I started out I knew absolutely nothing and it took me a while to understand all the lingo and ideas. I listened a lot but it took a bunch of reading for me to really "get it" through books like Steve Smith's Dwarfcar and IMCA books. I use many of the settings in those books because I think they work real well. I have learned a great deal from Tex Myers as well, especially how to work on one and fix things that break. That kind of education you just can't pay for. But I just think more clubs should take the initiative to take a new driver's car and set it up perfect for them so it will drive right. They can't learn or stay out of trouble with an out of control car and it only puts the other cars in jeopardy. I just think it is a good idea all the way around. Don't tell your special secrets if you have them, but spending this small amount of time to make sure the new driver has got everything set basically correct and that the car is balanced on the scales BEFORE it hits the track will make Saturday night enjoyable for them and everyone else.

And when a new driver (someone with very little or no experience) is put in someone else's car for the first time for car count, his butt ought to be in the back no matter the draw and told to stay back there and given specific instructions to stay out of the way. I will not have my car destroyed by a first time driver who owns nothing on the track. The B9 had a guest driver at I-30 a week ago who just about wiped my new car out on Turn 1 of the start. And the funny thing is he had just come up to me before the race saying he had never been in a Modlite and was just going to stay away from everyone's equipment. The next thing I know he is flying through the turn not even knowing how to turn the car and just about wrecked my car. I am not going to put up with that.

You can be assured that if I put my neice or anyone else for the first time (or even up to the 10th time) in my old #13 car they will be told stay 4 links off the last car on the starts, stay in 2nd gear and light on the gas, stay to the outside of the track and don't move out of your line. Just make laps. They should be learning how to drive not race and that is it. And I think everyone else should be doing the same to protect the other competitors cars. It is mutual respect.

I will win Saturday night. You have to run through them if you start behind them and then again when you lap them. What I have said needed to be said. Out in AZ in the one Modlite group they have a rule that rookies have to start in the back until they demonstrate they can drive at competitive speeds and level. I think this is a good rule. I will stick by what I have said to the letter. I will not let my car get destroyed for no reason or a first time driver who has not been counselled. TMT stick to Texas.

Week One I did not even open up it up all the way nor gear it up to where it should be. Never drove it before and was in test and tune mode. Week Two geared it up a little more and opened it up a little more. Week Three opened it up and ran good all night except for the mishaps. I ran in Tex Myers old coupe the first time and got in the back, kept it in second and just rode around. I NEVER was the cause of an accident and I NEVER hit somebody else either as a fault of something I did. If I have hit them it is b/c of something they did wrong right in front of me and there was no way to miss them. Very rarely in 5 years have I even spun out. I have run close to the front in some Features and at the front in some Heats for much of the Heat in the old #13. I have never had the built motor nor the chassis some of the others have had....until now. With any car you have to figure out what it wants and the #1 car is about dialed in. I have spent 3 years in another car and it has faired quite well over that time considering what it is.

Jeremy, you need to decide if you are going to race sprint cars or not. I can remember multiple times YOU have come back out to guest drive with us and wound up wrecking out very quickly while the rest of us like me remained in the race and would up finishing in the TOP 5-6 in a 22 car field. And I really have not seen you burn it up much in the Sprint car races either. What did you tell me, "I am taking it easy and trying to get a feel for it and the new car". How long is that going to take you? Every word out of my mouth to you regarding that Sprint Car has been positive for your success.

What I have said here is to be of help to get these cars under control which in the interest of us ALL and the investment we have in our equipment. And Jeremy, you might ought to not speak to quickly b/c I had a very fast car Saturday night and if I ever could have broken past all the blocking I could have easily reeled in anybody on the track cause I reeled in everyone that I could get to in front of me without a problem. Saturday night and from this point on now that I have confidence in the car and what it will do, I will open it up all the way from the green to the checkered flag. I usually drive very conservative, but come this Saturday night I will not.

That was ONE year Jeremy and you did well. I on this post have ONLY said I would help them set up a car that will be DRIVEABLE and set with all the basic settings RIGHT....not GUESSED....RIGHT. I mean what I say about the first time driver and new driver and it should actually go WITHOUT saying. My number one focus in those days was to not harm the car I was in nor anyone else's either. Many times I let all of you pass me while I held a line back in the early days and then practiced by myself. When I felt better about it, I moved up closer and then later into traffic. When my car was going wrong, I wish someone would have made the offer to do for me what I am offering to do for the rookie to get it to doing right. I'd rather race a new driver in a handling car than one that is not. At least his mind and hands will be telling him the right feedback and the car will respond more closely to what he is thinking. And that is what the new driver needs.

Instead of lying on here about someone's driving ability, maybe you should tell the truth for once. No I have not won yet. Yes I got close in several heats last year. Now I have equal equipment if not better than those that have been winning. Now we will see.

You wrecked out twice at I-30 within the first 2-5 laps if you recall last year. And you were behind me on both occasions.
