Jeremy, I agree with you. Enforcement is the key. But many of the tracks and assocations feel tech is a pain. and they think it runs cars off. As far as seeing
an Outlaw Race Chassis in Arizona, I am not sure what your saying? But you can call me anytime between 7:00am and 12:00pm est. E-mail me @

Toby, I will e-mail you Monday. If what you are saying is the truth then why have rules? Racing has got way out of hand. I hope everyone is happy (including
track owners) with Dwarfs racing with Modlites or a small car count. I will work hard on getting a race in the Phoenix area wirth while for the poeple around
the country to race with SWMLA after our last pionts race, and I am aware that a $10,000 purse won't cut it. Good luck to everyone out there

Well, we are still ironing out a proposed rule package for our yet to be named group. The one thing that I am pretty sure we are going to do is to use a stock
1000cc engine rule. Right now we are looking for one or more trustworthy motorcycle engine guys who are willing to help us keep all the engines stock and the
playing field as level as at all possible. I think we are also going to use an Association Engine Purchase plan like what the SWML Association has in place. We
are also looking at using shock and tires rules to help limit cost.
As soon as we get the engine rules and authorized sealers/rebuilders in place we are going to start a marketing plan to acquire sponsorship. Then we will start looking at putting together a schedule. Our ultimate goal is to be up and running with some races in 2010. |

Hey GB-you can always just use the SWModlite rules, then we can start to make some changes for the more "budget minded" racers out there.

Tony, I'm pretty sure we are going to use a rule package really similar to what the SWMLs are running. The rules probably won't be identical but they
will be very similar. We are just looking for something that will work here in our area. Those of us looking at this type of racing have all be involved with
racing in some from or another. We know that racing takes money but what we are trying to accomplish is to keep it from being whoever can afford to spend the
most wins. Which is why we are leaning towards something similar to the SWML.

Tony, that makes 3 groups that want to use your rules. Could it be the start of a national thing? One can only hope. USMLA ? Do you think I could get a motor
sealed for future use in October down in Phoenix?

GB-I hear ya, thats the EXACT same reason why we went with the "limited" rules package that we did. We'd rather leave it to driver's ability
and setup (and luck) to win races, and NOT the guy with the deepest wallet. So far we're the fastest growing division in the state of Arizona(over 50
cars), when many divisions are seeing a decline, we're growing at a manageable rate. Its working!!!
CJ- I agree, that would be exciting to see, and I hear in Texas, that they are trying to start a new modlite group there as well? The Houston area modlites folded a little while back, and I was told it just got too expensive, so guys quit coming. With our rules , you can even keep them untouched for many years(excluding the engine), without the fear of having an out-dated car thats not competitive. We've proven you don't NEED beadlocks, you don't NEED stagger, you don't NEED torque links, you don't NEED softs! What you do NEED, is a set of rules that makes the avg. joe know that when he pulls through the gate, that he has as good a shot as the guy with all the money in the world, when he gets on the track. GB-PS, Its going to take ALOT of committment and hard work"for free" to make it work. You'll get a ton of naysayers, and battles along the way, but trust me its worth it that one night in the pits, when you look down and see 30 cars, of people that agree with your ideas and put up their own money and bought cars to prove it, its pretty cool! Good luck to all of you interested in starting this in your area, and if you need any help, don't hesitate to contact us at SWModlite .com, we'll be more than happy to help! Tony/SWMLA |

Tony, we fully understand that there will be lots of work involved in getting this up and running, that is one of the reasons we are shooting for a goal of
racing in 2010, not next year. We have been able to get a rough draft of a rule package together, now we are starting to put together a marketing plan and
starting to look at tracks in our area that we think would be suitable for racing these cars. I am also going to talk with one of the guys I work with about
putting together a website for us, so maybe we can start generating some interest about these cars in the area.
Hopefully either late this year or by the start of racing next year we will have a car or two to take to some of the tracks so that people can really look at them and see them on the track. I would welcome any advice that you guys could give me about your experience would be greatly appreciated. |

GP I am in the same boat as you are though we do have some cars in California, though not many. I as well will be taking Tony's advice very seriously.
Thank fully we live within a days drive of Phoenix and can race a bit from time to time especially in the winter when it's nice in Phoenix and rainy and
cold here. Racing has been and is getting more expensive by the moment and I really feel that the ideas of the SWML can at least keep them in check. Tony a
question for you at what price range do you think a guy could get into and be competative. I see a lot of good deals on DCR and purchased my car for many
thousands less than a new car. We have not raced it yet but from all the testing we have done so far it looks feels as if the car is very fast. We can't
hardly wait til we get to race it. after which we would like to sell this car and get another to sell and also promote the cost vs. fun factor that these car
really produce.

GB, I agree that now is the time to do your homework. If you ever have any questions, don't hesitate to get ahold of us, @ www.swmodlite.com , there is a contact e-mail address, and we'll help ya all we can.
CJ, As far as price, last years SW champion-(John Priest),was/ is driving a 2001 Pro Modlite, and the champ the year before had a 2001 Pro as well.I know these cars weren't the most expensive, so I think you can find a good competitive race ready modlite(that fits our rules) for around $5500 on up.Price depends on options, like QC or Toyota?new body/used?, same as with a dwarf. Charles, you need to get somthing going up there, so we can have some cross/state racing in the future! Hopefully this time you won't be met with such hostility in your pursuit! Good luck to you as well, and hope to see ya this winter. In Oct, this year, we're having a 2-Day show @ Canyon Raceway Park, in Peoria,Az, and somtime after that, there is plans of a winter series at Speedworld again. Keep in touch and let us know your progress. Thanks Tony SWMLA |

Hey Tony, the area that we could really use some help with is in the marketing department. I have enough of experience with the technical side of racing to
handle that side of it, but I have very little experience with marketing. I would really like to talk with you about this side of, please email me at

How to overcome the question " where do they race those around here" is the biggest issue I have faced. As far as Marketing. I had several sponsors
and committed to a purse of 1000+ to win from CJRacecars and my other company and even that was rejected. It is also likely that with the right group that a
500$ to win series is not out of reach. So our Marketing is there as far as financial support. It seems that the first hurdle of 15 cars is the biggest one.
However "we" are confident that once these cars are seen in person by perspective participants it will grow faster. So we wait, smile, travel a bit
and most importantly we don't and will not give up. the cars we have already in California will grow in time.
