Posts: 402 (10/20/05 05:01 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	What we did in S.C. was 1) went to street tires,2)took out any kind of bushing on r/e link,no absorbing material at all has to be solid,3)no fuel inj., 4) classic bodies only, we now have around 20 cars in club. drawing 14-15 on weekly basis.Most important is the FUN is back!!!! Here, we're "trying" not to eliminate anyone, but rather make the existing cars even. I'm all for the 50 duro rule. It would make it harder to put power to the ground, and the tires may last longer. I'm somewhat reserved on our classic rule here in Arkansas. I think the wing is more than enough to bring a classic up to the performance of the mods, without the "any tire" break. If it were up to me(it isn't), I'd like the mods run any 50 duro tire, and the classics any tire as long as it's on a 13X8 or smaller rim.

Has anyone tried this to see what happens to a front running classic compared to a front running mod?

Posts: 0 (10/21/05 10:16 PM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I would agree to a harder tire, Stock engine bore and stroke under 1250cc. engine as it came.(carb engines use carbs, fuel injected use fuel injection). and a claim rule on the engine. no torque absorbing links. and if the quick change is here to stay then limit the gears to only the exact gear ratios available for the 8 bolt & 10 bolt Toyota. I really think once the rules are finilized they should be locked to change for a 3 to 5 years unless its a safty issue. or availibilty issue.

Posts: 64 (10/22/05 11:26 AM) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	From what I have heard is that the Q.C. rearends can not get the exact ratio as the 8 & 10 bolt Toyota rears, so where do you draw the line there. And also with the time constraints at the track do the ones with the Q.C. rears have to run the ratio that they come to the track with or can they change them whenever they have 15 min. before they go out on the track?

Why keep ANYONE from changing gears. I do assume you would keep the toy rears from changing as well? Not a good idea. It would be a MAJOR HASSLE to enforce the gear selection/gear change at the track. Unneccesary!

One class could be for the recreational driver (Hobby Stock Dwarfs?) who is out to have some fun and the other (Open Dwarf)could be for the more competitive drivers who are willing to spend a lot more (Time and money) to have their fun and be competitive at a higher level. Even some of us "recreational" drivers like to travel now and then - two sets of rules or classes if you will, could make that more fun. Essentially, thats what we are talking about two classes of competition. One that wants to go faster and do more, and the other who like having a little fun. After all, a lot of us got into dwarfs because of the advertisements I know you have all seen the advertisements about how inexpensive our cars are to buy and operate. The lower class could have the higher duro tires and some of the other rules that have been discussed - the higher division could have QC and better tires, and a more open engine rule? Just a thought. Jerry
