The Modified Lite STAR's 2007 Championship season came to a conclusion Saturday night at Big Daddy's Speed Center in front of a full house and with the crowning of the 2007 champion and the honoring of the STAR's top drivers. The Modified Lite STAR's Championship Tour finished its greatest season yet and firmly established its place as the best modified lite tour in the United States Director of Racing Operation's Bill Bauer stated during the banquet opening comments. It is the pinnacle of motor sports and modified lite racing Bauer stated.
During the 2007 season the Modified Lite STAR's Championship Tour continued to show growth with many of the 2006 drivers returning along with many new teams signing on for the impressive $40,000 points and purse pay out. The STAR's increased the tour to six events running at Mercer Raceway Park, Lernerville Speedway, Tyler County Speedway (Hill-Billy 100), Challenger Raceway Park (Fall Fest XII). The average car count for each of the six events was 34 with its highest at the Mercer Raceway Park (Little Guy Nationals $12,000 purse) at 50.
As we head into the 2008-racing season, the Modified Lite STAR's International Championship Tour is healthy and showing continued growth. It remains focused on bringing new levels of professionalism to our sport, while maintaining its affordability, and good competition.
