what is the correct size of fuel line for a stock pump and motor,it looks like 3/8ths is a little big.

10mm but you will not find it stocked in the US. Use 3/8 fuel injection hose and an injectoin clamp. Both are diffrent from the normal hose and clamp. The hose
is reinforced more and the clamp is a full circle type with a cross bolt not a worm clamp type.
You can run hard line from fire wall to firewall just be sure to zip tie on some old hose to it to keep in from rubbing 44dwarf
