MERCER CANCELS RACING FOR SATURDAY DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER; FREE
BEAVER COUNTY MOVED TO MAY 10; PRACTICE NIGHT WEDNESDAY

(Mercer, PA)…Racing action scheduled for Saturday night, May 3 at
Mercer Raceway Park has been cancelled for the third time this season
due to rain and the 80% forecast of additional rain throughout the
afternoon and evening. The Free Beaver County Night presented by
Image Factory Signs & Graphics has been postponed until next
Saturday, May 10 with the Heating & Cooling Sprint Cars, Tire Express
Modifieds, McElwain Motors FASTRAK Late Models, Big Daddy's Speed
Center Mod Lites, & the M&D Paving Mini Stocks along with kids bike
races and $10 Family Night presented by Auto Service Express &
Armstrong.
"Mother Nature hasn't been too kind to us that far," stated
10th year owner Vicki Emig. "It's been a struggle to get the shows
in that we have, but this time of the year is usually 50-50.
Hopefully we'll get some nice spring weather in the coming weeks as
all of our promotions kick in."
Mercer Raceway Park will also host its second practice of the
year this Wednesday, May 7. Pit gates open at 4 p.m. with practice
from 5 p.m. until dark. Pit passes are $20. The rain date is
Thursday, May 8.
Mercer Raceway Park is located minutes from both Interstate
79 and 80 just off Route 19 on Fairground Road in Mercer, Pa. Dirt
track racing and quality family entertainment are presented weekly
late March through September. The office in New Bedford, Pa. is open
year-round Monday through Friday after 1 p.m. For more information
