Does TUSA still exist and why have they not posted any rules for the 08 season?

TUSA does still exist with the running of their regional programs.......The 2007 rules and 2008 rules are basically the same, so I think that is the reason
they didnt post "08" rules.

Buck,
Thanks for the post. I am not trying to bust your chops. just wondering why it takes TUSA so long to post the rules? Also I would like some clarifacition on the engine rules. Are all 1000cc engines to remain stock? ie; GSXR1000, CBR1000, ZX10R, etc. or is it only the ZX10R that must remain stock? And if so why? Everyone knows that they are all very close to equal on a dyno. Does TUSA have any intentions of having the rules to keep all 1000cc fuel injected engines remain stock? I believe after racing in in the Dwarf cars and Modelites for 14 years that in order to make it more apealing to new owners the rules need to be stock as it came off the bike. And Enforced! So many people have parked cars over the years due to increasing engine costs.Even late models are going it that direction with the crate lates. I would also like to know who exactly at TUSA makes the decisions on the rules? Thanks Toby Boetcher Outlaw Race Chassis 1-614-561-5968 |

Hey Toby,
The reason I was told the ZX10 must remain stock is because of the ported and polished head from the factory. All other 1000's must remain stock "if" they were to weigh in at the minumum 1240#s. Built 1000's are to weigh 1300#s, and anything over 1100cc's is to weigh 1340#s. I hope this is the answer you're looking for. Scuba Steve |

Steve.
Thanks but I was looking for Buck to answer the questions. TUSA is not letting the average racer be competitive. I want them to answer why. Just because the ZX10 is ported and polished is not a good answer. As I said before the Gixer and the ZX10 run compairable numbers on a dyno. Thanks for your reply Toby |

Hey Toby.... I've never seen TUSA "REALLY" explain the reasoning behind their rules. At first, they didn't allow the ZX10 because of the head
work, even though it's HP ratings are about the same as the other 1000's out there. Their rules plainly states..."no ported and polished"
head work, and I'm sure their thinking the ZX10 could be a real "terror" if built with a 3mm overbore kit(readily available) and more head work
that couldn't really be teched. I'd be suprised if Buck answers your last post, but then again.... I've been suprised quite often this past few
months.

Toby,
The rules for TUSA are decided by a board of Directors that include representatives from manufacturers to engine builders. I know the original reason for the exclusion of the ZX10 was because of the ported heads. I will have Walt call you and you may discuss these rules with him. I'm sorry I haven't gotten back to you, I'm the General Manager of a race track and have been very busy. I apologize. Steve, I hope you're surprised again... |

Buck, Thanks for the reply. Not exactly the answers I was looking for. Who is on the board? Do they race in our class? IF Walt does call I am sure he has all
the answers.
