THUNDER HILL RACEWAY 05/24/08
.C.R.S.T. (Dwarf Car Racing Series of Texas) put on a great show at Thunderhill Saturday night. We had a 16 car count, but unfortunately the #93 car of Robert Knandel was not able to race with us due to mechanical problems during practice. We had two guest drivers. Car #K9 John GriffIn, from the state of Minnesota, the son of Pat GriffIn, the unofficial crew chief for Arden Vikre #72, and our other guest driver was #07 Michael Dion from the Edna Dwarf Car group. Thanks for joining us guys, and hope to race with you both again someday! And our new member (Mr. No show), #88 Rusty Young, the brother of our #20 car Jerry Young, is from Helotes, Texas. Welcome to our group Rusty, look forward to many great nights of racing with you. Colby Young, Rusty's son will be graduating high school in a few short weeks and should be racing with us in the near future. Congratulations on your graduation and we look forward to racing with you soon!
The starting lineup for the first heat race was: # 37, #60, #27, #6, #20, #8, #07. Another caution free race for this first group - way to go guys! The finishing order was: #6 Jim Rogers, #20 Jerry Young, #37 Butch Havelka, #60 Richard Smith, #27 Ricky Winks, #8 Chuck McCormick, and #07 Michael Dion (guest).
The starting lineup for the second heat race was: #16, #3, #15, #72, #64, #05, #88, #K9. Only 1 caution on the first lap so there was a complete restart with the same lineup. The finishing order was: #05 Keith Roach, #72 Arden Vikre, #64 Kelvin Chandler, #3 Rocky Bassham, #K9 John Griffin (guest), #15 Eric Schmitt, #88 Rusty Young (new member), #16 Chris Knandel.
The feature was action packed. #6 Jim Rogers was on a rail. The guest drivers and new member complemented our group. Thanks again for helping us with another fun filled night of entertainment. The lineup was: #6, #20, #16, #3, #15, #72, #64, #05, #60, #37, #27, #8, #88, #k9, #07.
