I did not crash. I just skidded a little and came to a stop. I felt it give and hit the brakes. Did not travel very far. But I am telling you I had the bottom
all to myself and all figured out. I discovered I could run it wide open and not even lift. That is when I started moving back up. Just broke. I was cutting
off a lot of track.

NO problem. I was just very disappointed after much preparation. I had looked forward to running against Bryan and would have liked to have given him a race.
Next time there will be all the hp I got in the car. Then we will run with kitchen sinks, set up, and driving. He knows he is my friend.

Doc, Bryan would have won that race in his 115 stock 1000 classic also, hell he wasn't even running the modlite hard, Stevie Wonder could see that. Bring
your big 1070 next year and lets see what happens. But in the mean time, I can't wait to see the dirt slinger at the grand with a stock 1000 in it.

The Dirtslinger is not completed Greg. My horse riding accidents slowed my progress. Going back to work on it Monday. Got a redesign on the front clip to do.
Getting close on the fabrication though. Not so sure about the other part Greg or he would have been in it.
BTW I heard you broke a leg. Hope you are doing ok.

One more time....I got hurt and could not do anything for almost 6 weeks due to two horse riding accidents. It put me behind in fabrication. Tex and I are
fabricating the chassis. He lives 3 hours away from me. We are starting back up in the AM for three days of work on it. If I had not gotten hurt I would have
maybe had it done. Accidents happen. I showed up at Grayson....where were you? I don't see you traveling anywhere. Are you going to KC? Doubt it. Will I be
there. Definitely. Will The Dirtslinger be bad.....yes it will be so don't be talking too quick. I have already paid my dues for Texana for 2010. What does
that tell you???? You will be seeing it alright.

See there...we all have reasons we can't do something. I also had kids to see, ER work to do that put me out of town for a week or so, biz to attend to,
and a couple trips to Nashville to work on this Country CD I am finishing up. You might listen to Country radio right now, cause the first single went out two
weeks ago. You want to hear it? Go to www.cdtex.com and click on Feature artists. Click on the Robert Martin icon. Put some real good ear phones in your ears
like some JVC or Sony that will give you true studio sound (you can get them at Wal Mart), plug em in and let it play...."I Know That She Can".
When you get your chance at me, I will not let the mistakes get me and The Dirtslinger will be ready to run the way it is supposed to do. |

Doc,
Is that a steel guitar? I sure miss the days of steel guitars in country music, this new stuff sucks! You sounds a lot like Brian Burns, I think he is from Texas. I will call you in the next few days to get some more info we talked about ( fuel pump and lines ). Thanks Troy |

Man, I only do Country music the way it is supposed to be done....so yes, that is a steel guitar, a real piano, twin fiddles and a hollow back 550 Gibson
guitar on this song. There is a Christmas song coming out for the second year in a row to boost this release, "The Reason For The Season". 8 songs
are completed to final mix. I have 2 more songs to sing and 4 to have backing vocals on and then those have to be mixed...then the album has to be mastered
like "I Know That She Can". It has been a long process on this album. I had a lot of tracking sessions on this album until I found the right combo of
musicians that could capture the sound I wanted, the way I did Country music back in the day. I fired a lot of so called great players, some that had played on
some big records. In the end, I found the right guys like Chris Leuzinger on Lead Guitar (my session leader and he played on all of the Garth records), Owen
Hale on Drums (he has played on a lot of old George Strait hits among others and just had gotten off the road playin' drums for Lynnyrd Skynnryd for two
years), Sonny Garrish on steel Guitar (lot of major classic hits and even some for Alan Jackson, Kenny Chessney and Shania), Dirk Johson on Piano (played on
You Can Be A Star and has played on some Gene Watson stuff as well as for The Hensons), Mark Casstevens on Acoustic Guitar/Harmonica/Banjo (plays on all of the
Garth records, Brooks and Dunn records and even plays on the Opry), Rob Hajacos on Fiddle (plays on all the Garth records, Brooks and Dunn records, some Alan
Jackson records and was the fiddle player on "Unwound" by George Strait), Mike Brignardello on Bass (plays on all the Trace Adkins records and Sara
Evans records), Aubrey Haynie and Joe Spivey on Mandolin. I use John Wesley Ryles on all of my BGVs and he is the guy you hear singing harmony with Ronnie Dunn
on the Brooks and Dunn records....it ain't Kix I promise you. The lady I use on BGVs is Diana Dewitt. But all this does not work without a great engineer
and I have a great one...Frank Green.
I had some success in the Country Gospel field, but did not have the caliber musicians or engineer I have now. It has taken a lot of networking to get to these guys, but they are great friends now. I saved my Country songs until I felt I had the players and the engineer to make it sound major label. Keep your fingers crossed as this is and has been a big investment. Rat. one of my songs on this new CD is called Dixie Queen and it mentions NASCAR, dirt tracks and Dale Earnhart. But I like your lyric....LOL!! |
